The Role
Raw Stadia is seeking a talented and passionate Backend & Firmware Developer to join our dynamic team. This unique position bridges the gap between software and hardware, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to both our backend systems and firmware development. Based in the tech-friendly environment of Corda Campus in Hasselt, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the technologies that drive our sports analytics platform.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
● Design robust REST APIs with high performance and scalability in mind
● Develop and maintain backend services using PHP, demonstrating in-depth
knowledge of the Symfony framework
● Demonstrate hands-on experience in managing and optimizing MySQL databases
● Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and system integrity
against potential threats.
● Actively participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality
● Collaborate with front-end developers and project stakeholders to ensure seamless
integration of backend services
● Lead initiatives to continuously improve our CI/CD processes, optimizing deployment
strategies and tools to enhance development efficiency and reduce downtime.
Firmware Development
● Design, program, and optimize firmware for cutting-edge sports technology devices, focusing on microcontroller efficiencies.
● Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system architectures and integration solutions.
● Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging of firmware, prioritizing reliability and performance.
● Engage in the full firmware development lifecycle from design to deployment, ensuring alignment with backend systems.

Vaardigheden
What You Bring
● A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
● Extensive experience in backend development with a strong proficiency in PHP, particularly with Symfony and API Platform.
● Expertise in firmware development, with a solid foundation in programming languages suited for embedded systems such as C or C++.
● Familiarity with database technologies, preferably MySQL, and familiarity with advanced message queuing protocols (AMQP).
● Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and proven ability to implement effective testing strategies.
● Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation in sports technology.
● A collaborative mindset and proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
